Greetings people of Vi'Ix and random passers-by,
Taki Kawada - or as he is known throughout the micronational world, Ryan Caruso - has taken a "semi-permanent hiatus" from the hobby. You can read his actual message here:
mnn.mncentre.net/forum/index.php/topic,4802.0.html
In regards to Vi'Ix, he has "gifted" it to me. Now, those that know me best here will know that I'm not out for power, so I'm not going to be all "its mine its mine!" for the rest of eternity. No, I evolved from that sad level of micronationalism a while back. However Ryan has trusted me with the adminisrative powers - or so he thought, as he has made a mistake which I'm sure he hasn't meant to make, but he did before in the CIS - he has in fact given me only the title of administrator, but no powers; as is the default setting on Proboards.
In terms of government, I am not in charge. I shall use this post as an opportunity to iterate once again what I think Vi'Ix should be like (yes, you may be getting tired of it ) - a community, not a nation so much, with the Central Command being less of a government than a policing force. The CC (as I'll refer to it from now on) will be divided into two halves - the Administrative side, which is real life stuff like looking after forums, which is currently ran by me technically, considering I'm the only active admin; and the Mecha Force, which is lead by the Leader of the Air Wing and the Leader of the Land Wing. Vi'Ix is a community of independant traders and businessmen seeking to find their way in the Sci-Fi world, and as such the Mecha Force will take a back seat approach, interfering as little as possible, and will act as a kind of police when needed. The Mecha Force leaders will also sign intermicronational agreements, like the one signed with Natopia earlier this year.
Vi'Ix has been and most probably always will be primarily a Role-Playing arena for Sci-Fi lovers. I hope that this element, which is undervalued in this bizare hobby, can remain a central part of the community and what it is to be a citizen of Vi'Ix.
In terms of administration, we currently find ourselves in a little bit of a problem: as we have already seen over the past few days, spammers are targetting our fair forums for seemingly no reason. As Taki is away and I have no powers, not even moderation powers, this leaves us in a bit of a pickle; either we wait for Taki to respond to the email I have sent him and grant me admin, which may take a while as he is moving to a new town with his girlfriend and there'll be alot of business (ie ness of busy); or we move to another forum, meaning we lose all current powers and these really, really nifty forum design Taki left us. I favour waiting for him, but it is not really for me to decide.
If anyone has doubts, additions or any questions about everything I have just said, I please ask that you don't hesitate to post in this thread. So far, Vi'Ix has been micronationally very liberal and I intend for it to remain so; if you have an idea, say it, we'll discuss it and then things might happen depending on the results of the discussion.
Thanks for reading,
- Vilhelm von Benkern
